My Favorite Guitars in Naples, Florida
Jon will perform with world-class musicians Richard Smith at the 2012 Bayshore Festival of the Arts on Saturday, January 29th at 3pm. We hope to see you there!
Today we are featuring one of the most well-known and respected artists in Denmark (who plays, among many other guitars, a custom Martin 000-45S Madagascar): Finn Olafsson.
Playing the guitar since age 10, Olafsson has been featured on over 150 Scandinavian releases. He is an expert on steel-string acoustic guitars, and became well-known in Europe for his work with legendary rock band “Ache,” which he co-founded in 1968.
Please visit his website to listen to clips of his latest projects – including his solo releases – which are arguably some of his best. He also shares his helpful tips on choosing an acoustic guitar:
Sharon and I are very excited to have Mark and Kathy Kreitzer as our guests again this January in Naples! Mark and Kathy are very special people and we will get to enjoy their company for a whole week! Sharon’s Mom Donna and sister Cindy are also here and the Walker Brothers are coming for the weekend – what could be better????

Jon and Mark Kreitzer will join Richard Smith, the world’s leading fingerstyle player, at Three Crows and Larryfest in August!

Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Martin booth this past weekend at IBMA in Nashville, including the young and talented Moore Brothers!
And congratulations to our good friend Clay Hess on his CD Release Party for his latest album, Rain! What a line-up Friday night – featuring Ron Block and Cory Walker on banjo, Adam Steffey and Sierra Hull on mandolin, Christian Ward on fiddle, Randy Kohrs on resonator guitar, and Aaron Ramsey on bass. Special guests included Jesse Gregory, and Clay’s son Brennan!
As always, we enjoyed picking with Jack Lawrence, and were happy to see a lot of old friends.
We’re looking forward to 2012 already!
Jon and 13-year old guitar prodigy David Heagy at Martinfest.
Move over, Tommy, this kid’s gonna be the next you!
